Description
Vintage 1945 Hundert Schilling paper banknote from Vienna, Austria. Marked Oesterreichische Nationalbank Vien, am 29 Mai 1945. Numbered in red ink: 1057 and 93480.Condition is used/circulated. There is minimal edge wear and a very light center crease. Please zoom all photos for more details.
The bill design features a veiled woman with a star on her forehead who represents the sciences. The Coat of Arms of Austria is seen above the “100” value to the left.
The reverse side features The Academy of Sciences building in Vienna. Symbols of the sciences are represented as medallions in the four corners: philosophy in the top left (star and astral signs), theology in the top right (eye of providence), medicine in the bottom left (bowl of Hygieia), and law in the bottom right (scales of justice).
