    This is a beautiful January 9th, 1949 program (playbill) from the Post-Broadway engagement of the RICHARD RODGERS and OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II musical "ALLEGRO" at the American Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. (The production opened October 10th, 1947 at the Majestic Theatre in New York City and ran for 315 performances before going on the road.) ..... The ensemble cast included ANNAMARY DICKEY, WILLIAM CHING, MURIEL O'MALLEY, ROBERTA JONAY, JAMES JEWELL, ALAN MANSON, MARY LA ROCHE, WALTER DAVIS, PATRICIA BARKER, SYLVIA KARLTON, EARL GILBERT, JOHN CONNOR and HARRISON MULLER ..... DETAILS: The 20 page playbill measures 6 1/8" X 9 1/4" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and list of musical numbers but with the exception of the front cover, no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: With the exception of three clean hole punches on the left edge, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
