This is a rare April 20th, 1942 broadside (single page playbill) from the Post-Broadway engagement of William Shakespeare's "MACBETH" at the American Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. (The revival opened November 11th, 1941 at the National Theatre in New York City and ran for 131 performances before going on the road.) .... The play starred MAURICE EVANS and JUDITH ANDERSON and featured PHILIP HUSTON, ERNEST GRAVES, ADA McFARLAND, ABBY LEWIS, WILLIAM HANSEN, HARRY IRVINE, RALPH CLANTON, WILLIAM NICHOLS, JOHN MacQUADE, WALTER WILLIAMS, ALEX COURTNEY, JOHN IRELAND, HENRY BRANDON, STAATS COTSWORTH, IRVING MORROW, HERBERT RUDLEY, JOHN PARRISH, PHYLLIS TYLER, VIOLA KEATS and RICHARD TYLER ..... This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
