This is a rare July 30th, 1945 program (playbill) from theone-week, St. Louis Municipal Opera production of the IVAN CARYLL and C. M. S. McLELLAN musical comedy "THE PINK LADY" at the Municipal Opera Outdoor Theatre in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri. (The Original Broadway production opened March 13th, 1911 at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City and ran for 312 performances.) ..... The musical starred LUCILLE MANNERS as "Claudine" (the role originated in 1911 by HAZEL DAWN) and featured ROMNEY BRENT, DICK SMART, EARLE MacVEIGH, JACK GOOD, FRED HARPER, DAVID TRIMBLE, ALAN NOEL, FRED SCHNEIDER, Jr., LE ROI OPERTI, FRANK STEVENS, ANN ANDRE, HELEN RAYMOND, JOSEPHINE NERI, RUTH URBAN, LEONE FOLEY, ELEANOR GERMAINE, ARNOLD KNIPPENBERG, PATRICIA BOWMAN and CHARLES LASKEY ..... DETAILS: The four page playbill measures 7" X 10" inches, is printed on a newsprint stock and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and list of musical numbers, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: With the exception of several tiny edge tears, moderate creasing and slight discoloration, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
