I bought this in 'as-is' condition hoping that I could get it was working or could get it working easily. I put in the special vacuum pump oil in the lower vacuum pump and monitored the various status messages on the side panel. The unit powers on, the status LED gives Ver #, then changes to ACCL which means the turbomolecular pump is spinning up to 78,000 RPM. This takes a few minutes and then status changes to STBY. Pressing the button on the remote, changes status to EVAC where the system pumps down the internal sensing system. When the system pumps down to 100mTorr, then status changes to MEAS which is when the system is supposed to be measuring helium. Leaving the system capped, it pumps down to 14 mTorr. All the status LED's on the side panel are correct showing no errors, but LED's on the handset aren't reading right. So something is not quite right with the machine, but I don't know what and don't have time to figure it out. But the really expensive parts seem OK.I decided to buy a newer machine that is already working because I need the leak detector to help me find a leak in my equipment. For someone familiar with these machines, it is a good deal.
