    Description

    Here is a beautifully designed cut work patterned FRONTAL for use in decorating a small altar, and suitable for chapel or home use.
    It is durable heavier cotton fabric, completely finished on top and side edges, with a repeating needlepoint pattern of square crosses in an elegant zig-zag pattern, displaying the skill of the cutwork and needlepoint technique. The frontal measures 70“ long, and is 8“ wide, including a nice 1 3/8” hem on the top for easier attachment to the altar.
    This is a vintage Canadian made piece, donated by a local parish to a religious community in my area, proceeds from the sale going towards support of their missions- and it is graded in Very Fine condition- once used, perhaps, but very gently- made in a more modern design for contemporary use, although the piece is probably circa 1950s/60s in age.
