Bobby Jones went into the 1929 U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach the clear favorite, but found himself defeated in the first round by Johnny Goodman, a caddie from Nebraska. This loss likely helped spur Jones to an undefeated season the next year, in which he won the U.S. and British Amateur Championships and the U.S. and British Opens in the same year.

Printed with fine attention to detail in Pebble Beach Heritage Collection, by Neal Hotelling and Matthew Vree (Pebble Beach Company, 2006). The 100 images presented in this fine art book represent the heritage and history of this famed place. They were selected from a negative file of thousands of photographs taken by official Pebble Beach Company photographers including, notably, Julian P. Graham and William C. Brooks. These and other images are available as fine art photographs through the Images of Pebble Beach art gallery. As you might imagine, gallery patrons are often hard-pressed to select just one or two photographs to take home. The Pebble Beach Heritage Collection makes 100 of these fabulous, historical images available to enjoy again and again in a format that is also suitable for framing.
The book is out of print. New or excellent condition copies cost 0 and up, and are becoming exceedingly hard to find. At the gallery, selected photographs from this collection run 0-0.
The images in the Pebble Beach Heritage Collection were carefully printed to bring out the real look of the original black-and-white photographs. These are beautifully printed and intended to be suitable for framing. We occasionally get in a copy that is damaged, has a weak binding, or has a few pieces already cut out.
