1945 Dear Ruth CHICAGO STAGEBILL moss hart old playbill theater collectible

Description

This auction is for a great, rare Chicago Stagebill from the play Dear Ruth!
It is about 12 pages long and measures about 9" x 6."  The play showed at the Harris Theatre at 170 Dearborn Street in Chicago beginning on August 12, 1945.  It was presented by Joseph M. Hyman and Bernard Hart.  It was written by Norman Krasna, directed by Moss Hart, and the setting was by Frederick Fox.
Please note: I am listing the cast and advertisements so that you are aware of what exactly the program contains.
Cast members include: William Harrigan, Leona Powers, Herbert Evers, Beverly Chambers, Betty Burghardt, Rosemary Rice, Leslie Litomy, Virginia Skinner, Jimmy Holden, and Jimmy Phelan.  There is a "Who's Who in the Cast" for some of the actors.
Ads in the program include Olsen and Johnson at the New Shubert Theatre; Henrici's; Teddy's L'aiglon, Blatz; Gibby's; Old Heidelberg; Elgin American; Delecta; The Voice of the Turtle with Hugh Marlowe and Vivian Vance; Good Night Ladies with Skeets Gallagher and Edmund Glover; Sturm Beauty Salon and more.  The back cover has a full-page ad for Schenley Reserve Whiskey - "Pre-War Quality."
The article "Chicago Footlights" by William Leonard talks about Good Night Ladies.
The program has some wear from age but is in good condition overall (see photos)!
